Valerie Tyler was born in Sherman, Texas. She received her B.S.B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Florida. Ms. Tyler has extensive sales experience and has had a successful career in life insurance sales with New York Life, residential real estate sales in New Jersey, and pharmaceutical sales with Berlex Laboratories (Bayer). Ms Tyler has achieved numerous sales awards for her many accomplishments in these fields. She also owned and operated her own company, Therapeutic Products Incorporated, for several years as a distributor of imported diabetic shoes from China, becoming certified as a Pedorthist by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics (ABC) in this field.

Ms. Tyler serves her community by volunteering as a community representative on the Institutional Review Board of Clear Lake Hospital. In addition, she is a member of the Houston Association of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.
