At a young age Al enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. Upon his return, Al began a career in the automobile industry. After starting as an automobile salesman, Al quickly climbed the ranks to become the general manager of a Ford dealership in Pasadena, Texas. Before long, Al owned a Dodge dealership in Fort Worth, Texas, which he operated until a career change into the real estate industry. With his wife, Sondra “Sam” Fox, Al entered the real estate industry by managing over 200,000 apartment units, in addition to several hotels and motels. From real estate management, Al ventured into real estate brokerage. In 1974, Al formed Qualified Properties, Inc. and has since sold hundreds of millions of dollars of commercial real estate. In addition, Al serves in the general partner capacity in a number of real estate investment partnerships and is a principal in and has been an integral part of the development of a 600-acre master-planned community in League City, Texas. Over the last 40 years, Al has enjoyed serving his community through his participation in various corporate directorships and positions related to local government. While in the real estate management business, Al served on the board of directors of the Houston Apartment Association. Additionally, Al has served on a number of boards in the banking industry, including serving as a director of Sterling Bank, Peoples Bank, Texas Independence Bank, and Southwest Bank of Texas (now Amegy Bank). Furthermore, Al served on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Pasadena, Texas for over 14 years.

Alix Fox is a licensed broker in the State of Texas that specializes in commercial and investment real estate. She is a third generation Houstonian that grew up in the commercial real estate industry. Prior to its sale to leading regional bank, she served as a member of the board of directors and loan committee of Texas Coastal Bank. As a result of this experience, she remains up-to-date on the ever-changing credit and banking markets and has a thorough understanding of what it takes to obtain financing for her clients.

A native Texan, John Willhoite was born in Denison, Texas, grew up in Irving, Texas, attended Arlington State College, and relocated to the Houston area in 1972. John currently resides in Pearland, Texas. As such, John has a deeply-rooted familiarity with the greater Houston area. John has over 40 years of sales and marketing experience. Tom Watson had a long career in the banking industry. He was a Regional Manager of The Private Bank Division at Texas Commerce Bank, President & CEO of Clear Lake National Bank, and an organizing director of Texas Citizens Bank. He served as Regional President of Texas Citizens Bank for 14 years. Tom retired from banking in 2020 and now has a full-time focus on commercial real estate. His service first approach is reflected in his day-to-day interactions with customers and team members. Tom’s business experience provides him the ability to guide a transaction from the start to finish in an organized manner. His extensive contacts in the greater Houston area are a benefit for his clients. Tom’s passion for the people he serves is contagious. His dedication to clients, local business owners, service organizations and not-for-profit entities help establish and grow strong relationships within our community. Herman Williams was raised in the Pasadena, Texas, and he later raised his family there. Herman joined the Qualified Properties team in April 2006 after working in the menswear specialty store business for 39 years, with the last 32 years as co-owner of Rountree-Williams Menswear in Southeast Houston. Since joining our team, Herman has sold and leased every sector of commercial real estate, including retail, office, and industrial. With his background, including a number of years in retail, Herman brings well-suited expertise to a number of prospective clients.

Community involvement has been important in Herman’s free time. He has been a member of East End Lions Club for many years, serving on its board and as President. Herman also served on the local Red Cross board for six years. He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Pasadena since 1989, serving on its board of directors for a number of years and as Club President from 1999-2000. Herman has been active with the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce for over 20 years, currently serving on the Board of Directors, where he was Chairman of the Board in 2002. He is a Founding Director of the Pasadena Independent School District Education Foundation, serving as President from 2002-2004 and still serving on the Board of Directors. Michael brings a vast professional background and experience to Qualified Properties. His experience includes management positions with Fortune 50 companies, including Monsanto, General Motors, and Ford Motor Company. Michael was Vice President of Real Estate Development for the financial division of Ford, structuring and managing nearly half a billion dollars in joint venture real estate projects throughout the Midwest. In addition to his business experience, Michael is a Texas attorney and his focus was helping small and medium size businesses solve legal problems. After decades of practicing law, Michael is concentrating his efforts in the commercial real estate market. His previous real estate experience includes locating and negotiating sites for a major fast food company in St’ Louis, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia and Indianapolis, and for a retail business’s expansion into Wisconsin and Kansas; developing malls and shopping centers in Minnesota, Missouri and Kansas; and locating land for a major manufacturing facility in Wisconsin. In addition, he was on the merger/acquisition team for a national bank, performing due diligence reviews of troubled S & L’s real estate holdings. Michael was a licensed real estate broker for over 13 years in Missouri, and has a Bachelor of Science degree, a Masters degree in business, and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence.

Before becoming a commercial real estate agent, Cliff managed segments of manufacturing and oilfield service industries. He draws on more than 30 years of experience managing multi-million dollar global units, inventories, warehouses and logistics as he advises clients in buying and selling real estate to increase their business opportunities. Buyers and sellers appreciate Cliff’s guidance in purchasing and selling real estate and investment properties throughout the greater Houston area. He has acquired, sold and leased medical offices, strip centers, warehouses and industrial facilities. Cliff is married to Phyllis, his wife of forty-seven years and he has two adult children. He enjoys the outdoors while camping fishing hunting, golf and especially being an armchair quarterback.
